1. Who we are
LingoSeal is the data controller for the personal data described below. Reach us at reza@lingoseal.com.
2. What we collect
When you create an account with LingoSeal we collect your email address, your name (optional), and the password hash. When you sign in with Google we additionally receive the external account ID from that provider. We log IP addresses and user-agent strings on each request for fraud and abuse detection.
If you send us feedback from the form on our home page we receive what you wrote, the page you wrote it from, and — only if you choose to give it — an email address so we can reply. It reaches us as an email and is stored nowhere else; the address is optional and feedback left without one is anonymous to us.
3. What we don't collect
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models that benefit third parties. Translation content you store with us is yours; we read it only to render it to you and the people you've invited into your workspace.
4. Analytics and cookies
The cookies we set without asking are the strictly necessary ones: the ones that keep you signed in, the one that protects forms against cross-site request forgery, and the one that records the answer you give the cookie banner.
Beyond those we use one analytics tool, PostHog, to count page views and aggregate click and scroll positions across this site and the product. We run no tag manager and no advertising or tracking pixels. PostHog is not loaded at all until you accept it: decline, and no analytics script runs in your browser and no analytics cookie is set. Ignoring the banner is a decline.
One thing this choice does not cover: while you are signed in we record a small number of product events on our own servers — that a workspace was created, that an invitation was accepted — against your account. Those use no cookies and are part of running the service rather than analytics you can switch off.
You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer of this site, or from the account menu in the product. Withdrawing stops collection immediately and deletes the analytics cookies already on your device. Your answer is stored on .lingoseal.com so it is honoured on both this site and LingoSeal itself.
5. Sub-processors
Vendors that process personal data on our behalf in order to run the service:
- Cloudflare — hosting and edge delivery, application logs, object storage (screenshots, logos, email images), and transactional email sending and inbound routing
- PlanetScale — the primary application database
- Stripe — billing, payment processing, and invoice generation
- PostHog — product and website analytics, only if you accept
6. Identity providers
Distinct from the list above: if you choose to sign in with Google, you authenticate against Google and we receive your verified email address and account ID. Google is not processing data on our behalf — you are being sent to them. Email-and-password and magic-link sign-in involve no third party at all.
7. Retention
Account and workspace data is retained for as long as your account is open, and for 30 days after cancellation, after which it is deleted. Request logs containing IP addresses are retained for 30 days. Billing records are retained for as long as applicable tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your account sooner at any time.
8. International transfers
Our infrastructure providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside the country you're in — including outside the EEA. Where that happens, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Decision 2021/914) as incorporated in our agreements with those providers.
9. Your rights
Under GDPR and similar regimes you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Email reza@lingoseal.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our response you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
